Improving catalytic production of aromatic hydrocarbons with a mesoporous ZSM-5 modified with nanocellulose as a green template

ZSM-5 is an important class of acid catalyst for producing bio-oil rich in petrochemicals; however, continuous efforts are required to improve the conversion efficiency biomass-derived oxygenates with large molecular sizes. The mesoporous (N-ZSM-5) was prepared a post-treatment method nanocellulose as green template this study induce additional surface and porous features. promoted properties N-ZSM-5, which effectively converted lignocellulosic biomass deoxygenated aromatic products catalytic pyrolysis. Moreover, compared conventional or alkali-treated ZSM-5, higher selectivity monocyclic hydrocarbons (MAHs) attained pyrolysis lignin while mitigating coke accumulation. product distribution evaluated using response methodology reaction temperature (°C) loading (g/g feedstock). compositions upgraded volatile measured MAHs (~46.55 area%) monophenols (~98.09 depending on process conditions.
